UTAR Department of Internal Audit (DIA) organised an ISO 9001:2015 Internal Auditors’ Training at its Sungai Long Campus from 25 to 26 April 2024. The training was delivered by Encik Mohammad Izzat Naqib Bin Md Yusof, HRD Corp accredited trainer from SIRIM.
The two-day ISO 9001:2015 Internal Auditor Training Course provided an
in-depth understanding of the changes from ISO 9001:2008 to ISO 9001:2015
Standards and how to conduct process-based internal audits based on ISO
9001:2015 Standards. Through lectures, discussions, and workshops, the
differences between ISO 9001:2008 to ISO 9001:2015 Standards were discussed,
ISO 9001:2015 requirements were reviewed in-depth, the impacts of the changes
on participants' organizations and audits were examined, and hands-on practices
were provided on how to conduct process-based audits based on ISO 9001:2015
The auditors were trained on four main topics. Firstly, they learned
how to adjust their auditing techniques for the changes in ISO 9001:2015. Next,
they learned to audit new requirements like organizational context and
risk-based approaches. They also learned to audit processes and their
connections with others. Lastly, they understood the importance of focusing on
a process-based approach.
A total of 27 staff from various faculties and departments
participated in the training.
